Nichole: Thank you.
Jack: Look! It’s a new bike.
Nichole: What a nice bike.
Jack: Yes. It’s very nice. Whose bike is this?
Nichole: It’s Mike’s.
Jack: Mike, is this your bike?
Mike: Yes, it’s mine.
Jack: Wow, you have a nice bike.
Mike: Thanks.

Farel: You're welcome. It is very comfortable, isn't it?
Jack: Yes, you're right. It is made of cotton.
Farel: It can make our body warm.
Jack: Yeah, that's the main function of it.
Emily: Where do you work, Ryan?
Ryan: I work in a restaurant.
Emily: Oh, really? What do you do there?
Ryan: I’m a chef. I cook delicious meals.
Emily: How interesting! What’s your favorite dish to make?
Ryan: I love making pasta. It’s fun to create different sauces.
Emily: That sounds great! Do you enjoy your job?

Emily: Yes, I do! I get to read new books and recommend them to customers.
Ryan: That’s awesome! It’s great to have a job you enjoy.
Emily: I agree! It makes working so much more fun.
Sarah: How was the surprise party on Tuesday, Tony?
Tony: It was a blast! Everyone was really surprised. First, everyone started saying “Happy Birthday” when we walked in the door. After that, we ate and drank a lot. Then, at about 9 o’clock, we started listening to music. That’s when everyone began to dance.
Sarah: Sounds fun! What happened next?
Tony: After that, everyone gave Bill some presents. He was so excited, and he thought that was the end of the party. But then Jessica brought out a huge birthday cake. He closed his eyes, made a wish, and blew out the candles. Oh yeah—I forgot to tell you the best part of the night.
Sarah: What’s that, Tony?
Tony: Before we gave him the cake, Frank surprised him with tickets to the Lions game. Suddenly, Bill jumped up and did a crazy dance on the sofa. By the end of the night, Bill was super happy. He had a smile on his face from ear to ear.
Sarah: It sounds like it was a great night. I wish I hadn’t been so sick.
The Man: Marie, this is Ms. Novak. She's from Chicago. Marie is our receptionist.
Ms. Novak: It's nice to meet you.
Marie: It's nice to meet you, too.
The Man: I'll get your tickets.
Ms. Novak: Thank you.
Ms. Novak: You look very familiar to me, Marie. Have we met before?
Marie: I don't think so, no.
Ms. Novak: Well, I never forget a face. I'm sure I know you from somewhere. I don’t look familiar to you?
Marie: I'm sorry, no.
Ms. Novak: I know! We met in Chicago. You were a waitress in a restaurant near the Art Institute.
Marie: I've never been to Chicago.
Ms. Novak: Oh. Have you ever driven a taxi in Egypt?
Marie: No.
Ms. Novak: Oh, you were the pilot on a small airplane in China. You flew me over the Great Wall.
Marie: No.
Ms. Novak: Have you ever gone snorkeling in Australia?
Marie: No.
Ms. Novak: Driven a bus in Peru?
Marie: Ms. Novak, I'm quite sure we've never met before. I came here only a year ago from Paris.
Ms. Novak: Paris? Well, my sister, Katerina, lived there for a year.
Marie: Katerina? Katerina Novak?
Ms. Novak: Yes.
Marie: She lived with me.
Ms. Novak: Of course, you were in all the pictures she sent home.
Marie: What a coincidence.
Ms. Novak: You see, I never forget a face.
